#10: The Long White Sheer Skirts

As reported by many street style blogs and Cunningham from NYtimes, the long skirts are enormously seen  on the streets of New York City today. Although long black sheer skirts seem to be more popular among people, I just cannot take my eyes off of the white sheer skirts! The Satorialist blog, has posted photos of women wearing those white sheer skirts, and I found them truly elegant, spring-like, and adorable. So I have been going around Soho to find me one, too, but the sheer fabrics tend to be expensive that I could not buy one yet.... Some of the pictures I took from The Satorialist.......

And skirts that are on Shopbop.....

Temperley London's Maribel Skirt $895.00

 Rag & Bone's Desert Long Skirt $450.00

ADAM's Pleated Skirt with Chiffon Insets $395.00

They are so adorable but expensive, aren they? I guess they are still in the "rise" stage on the fashion life cycle...

#9 New Fashion Show

Chanel has been presenting the most extraordinary runway shows for a quiet a long time now. These astonishing fashions shows surely show Chanel’s aspiration to be the best not only with garments but also with their fashion shows. Chanel would always come up with new ways, finding schemes to astound their guests with fashion shows that would incorporate the lifestyle of their customers and the newness. The video that I have attached below is a Chanel Spring/ Summer 2011 fashion show. I thought this was another new fashion show that Chanel has brought out due to the fact that it clearly shows a lifestyle at some kind of park-setting, models not only walking through the cat-walk but elegantly wandering around the stage set park, while the grand orchestra is playing the classical music real time.

And this Spring/Summer 2008 couture fashion show that Chanel has presented was the most interesting new stage-set fashion show I have ever seen (although have not physically seen the fashion show) that I just wanted to attach the video.

#8: Lookbooks

This is a video lookbook of Rebecca Minkoff's Spring/Summer 2011. I love how the brand incorporated the feminine theme by using sheer and soft fabrics for the entire line!
Lookbooks usually come literally out in books showing a designer's or a brand's entire line in a way to expose their products to their customers in a coordinated way. One model would be fitted with different outfits (with the brand's or the designer's new line)and then pictures would be taken to show the different outfits with the new line's theme to be put into a lookbook.  However, since this is a blog where I can upload the youtube videos and since video lookbooks are becoming very popular theses days, I chose to post a video lookbook.I think video lookbook is a great way of promotion because not  only the customers who come into the stores can monitor the video having more fun than going through the actual lookbook but also some random people or new customers (since the video is exposed in the youtube) could be engaged and be attracted by the lookbook! And therefore, increasing the brand's or the designer's potential customers.

#7: Trunk Shows

According to Women's Wear Daily (WWD), Matthew Williamson, a leading women's contemporary designer from London, is launching a bridal line and is planning to have a trunk show at his Meatpacking district flagship store in early April. I am very excited that the designer, Matthew Williamson, has launched the bridal line because I love his dresses! I hope, financially, I will be in a place where I could buy Williamson's or Vera Wang's bridal dress when I get married.

Williamson's Bridal Line renders a look of Greek goddesses! They are elegant and even virtuous.

#6: 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2011 Runway

This is a 3.1 Phillip Lim's Fall 2011 runway show filmed by Shopstyle. 3.1 Phillip Lim is one of my favorite designers whom I wish to work for when I graduate from F.I.T. His lines are simple but structured, boyish but feminine with little details. But most of all, I love the colors the designers picks for his lines: neutrals and basic colors with some pop up colors. He did not forget to incorporate the spankle embroideries this season as well!

#5: Color Trends

Blues this Spring and Summer!

I had not known until I wondered around the Meatpacking and Chelsea districts last weekend (researching for color trends of NY streets) that different tones of BLUES were the trend colors for Spring/Summer 2011.... I know it is funny and surprising that I did not know about this fact because not only sky or baby blue is my favorite color but also because I go to a fashion school and had not noticed or heard about the fact that blues were in this season...

There had been color confirmations about blues being the trend colors from Style Sight, which I have inserted some pictures and captions from Style Sight to show:

And here are the pantone colors I have magnified from the capture:
